Diary of As America # 607: El Dorado in Las Vegas

The Golden Knights are not only completing a historic season in the NHL, but are laying the foundations for a global expansion. That an expansion team wins more than 50% of its games is an event. That is put in playoffs, a feat. That it is in the end of the Western Conference, touches the miracle. And that all this is only the beginning of a true revolution in the North American market is even dizzying. Las Vegas Golden Knights are four games away from playing for the Stanley Cup and the game capital and vice of Nevada a step away from being a powerhouse in American sports. Also, a lot of NBA in a weekend that has left us the semifinals of conference (almost) sentenced, something I analyze with Sergio Andrs.

Diario de As Amrica # 613: Great victory of the 49ers

The probable exoneration of Reuben Foster in his trial for sexist violence is of enormous importance for the San Francisco season.
It's May and, still, the San Francisco 49ers have achieved one of the great victories of the season: Reuben Foster's ex-girlfriend has testified before Justice that she was not beaten by the linebacker and that she invented the entire complaint to get money and blackmail him. What this means is that the shadows about a possible suspension this year, even about the future of his career, dissipate; and that's something that Kyle Shanahan's defense needed like eating. I speak of it, and of the Cleveland Browns chosen for Hard Knocks, with Jos Villelabeitia. And with Pablo Fernandez, I take a look at the conference finals in the NHL, with the always impossible to predict Washington Capitals lost two games at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning and, therefore, returning to the box: 2-2 and everything to decide in the East.
